In this virtual talk, Brayboy will provide an overview of a concept that he has created with Jeremiah Chin called Terrortory. Through the lens of Terrortory, he will explore the ways that hair has mediated schooling and social practices over the course of four centuries. Brayboy is particularly interested in the ways that violence has evolved and the ways it has guided the engagement of Indigenous peoples in US society and schools. This will be done through a conversation with Professor Sabina Vaught.

Bryan McKinley Jones Brayboy (Lumbee) is President's Professor and Senior Advisor to the President at Arizona State University. He is a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and a Member of the National Academy of Education.
